LIC Women Entrepreneurs
Terms & Conditions
The shared expectations for using our website, joining LIC WE, and publishing a directory listing.
Last updated September 21, 2026
About these terms
These Terms & Conditions govern use of the LIC Women Entrepreneurs, Inc. (“LIC WE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) website, member accounts, directory, and membership services. Please read them before creating an account, purchasing membership, or publishing a listing. If you do not agree, do not use those services.
Our Privacy Policy explains our handling of personal information. Our Community Guidelines set the standards for participating in LIC WE.
Accounts and eligibility
Membership and directory accounts are for people age 18 or older. Use accurate information and an email address you control. If you manage a business listing, you must have authority to represent that business and permission to provide its information.
Sign-in uses an emailed link rather than a website password. Keep your email account secure, do not share sign-in links, and tell us at info@licwe.org if you suspect unauthorized use. We may verify account ownership before changing access or handling sensitive requests.
LIC WE is a community supporting women entrepreneurs. Any additional eligibility conditions or offer restrictions will be stated before you join.
Membership, prices, and renewal
The membership page and checkout describe the plan, price, currency, billing frequency, and included benefits before you purchase. Review your selection and any applicable taxes or offer conditions before confirming. Stripe processes payments.
- Monthly membership: renews and charges each month until you cancel automatic renewal.
- Annual membership with automatic renewal: renews and charges every 12 months until you cancel automatic renewal.
- Annual membership with manual renewal: covers one year and ends unless you choose to purchase another term. It does not renew automatically.
- Complimentary membership: a valid one-year code gives one free year. If you choose automatic renewal at checkout, payments begin after the free year at the selected rate unless you cancel. If you choose manual renewal, no automatic payment is taken. Founder lifetime memberships do not expire or require membership payments.
For an automatically renewing paid plan, your checkout confirmation authorizes the disclosed recurring charges until cancellation. We will provide confirmation and applicable advance renewal and material-change notices. Any price increase will be disclosed in advance and handled with the consent and cancellation rights required by applicable law.
Membership does not guarantee customer referrals, sales, business results, or admission to an event that is full. Event registration, capacity, schedules, and any separately priced activities are described with the relevant offer.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel automatic renewal at any time. Sign in to your member account, choose Manage billing, and cancel the subscription in Stripe. Cancel before the next renewal charge to stop that charge. If you need help or the billing page is unavailable, email info@licwe.org with your cancellation request.
Canceling renewal normally leaves membership active through the end of the current paid term. Deleting a directory profile, signing out, or unsubscribing from Email Updates does not cancel a subscription.
Refund requests are reviewed case by case. Send your request to info@licwe.org with the email used for membership, the charge date, and a brief explanation. Do not send card numbers. Cancellation does not by itself guarantee a refund, and this policy does not limit any refund or cancellation right required by law. We will explain the outcome and any effect on your remaining membership term.
When a full refund is completed, the membership period covered by that payment no longer provides access. Other paid membership periods keep their original dates. A partial refund leaves membership access unchanged; partial refunds that together refund the entire payment are treated as a full refund. Refunding a payment does not by itself cancel future automatic renewals. You can cancel renewal through Manage billing.
Event tickets or activities purchased separately may have their own cancellation and refund conditions disclosed when you register. Those conditions do not replace legal rights that cannot be waived.
Your directory listing
Saving a profile creates a private draft. Choosing Publish to directory makes the saved name, business details, public contact email, optional phone number, and photo or logo public. You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing and for using contact details you intend to share.
A published listing displays saved changes. You may edit, unpublish, or delete your profile through your profile page. Directory visibility requires active membership. If membership becomes inactive, the listing is hidden; it may reappear when membership becomes active unless you unpublish it or LIC WE has taken it down.
LIC WE may edit, hide, or remove listings to correct inaccurate information, address complaints, protect privacy or safety, or enforce these terms and our Community Guidelines. If LIC WE takes down a listing, only LIC WE can restore it. Contact us if you believe a moderation decision is mistaken.
Removing a listing cannot recall screenshots, downloaded images, search-engine records, or copies held by others. Directory inclusion is not a certification, professional credential, or guarantee of a member’s products or services. Transactions with listed businesses are between you and those businesses.
Photos, logos, and other content
You retain ownership of the content you provide. You must own it or have the permissions needed to upload it and make it public, including permission from identifiable people in a photo and any relevant photographer or trademark owner.
You give LIC WE a nonexclusive, royalty-free permission to store, resize, format, and display that content as needed to operate your account and directory listing, and to let our service providers do the same for us. Public display is subject to your publication choice. This permission ends when the content is removed, except for limited retention described in our Privacy Policy and copies already shared with the public.
Publishing a directory listing does not authorize unrelated use of your content in advertising or the sharing of private lists with sponsors. We will seek separate permission for those uses.
LIC WE’s own branding and website materials remain the property of LIC WE or their respective owners. Do not imply that LIC WE endorses your business or authorizes use of its logo without permission.
Respectful and lawful use
Follow our Community Guidelines and applicable law. Do not:
- Post false, unlawful, discriminatory, harassing, infringing, or misleading material, or impersonate another person or business.
- Publish someone else’s private information without permission.
- Use the directory to send unsolicited bulk messages or harvest contact details for spam.
- Upload harmful files, interfere with the website, evade a takedown, or attempt to access another person’s account or private information.
- Misuse payment systems, promotional codes, or membership benefits.
We may restrict access, remove content, or suspend services when reasonably necessary to address a violation, nonpayment, a legal requirement, or a security risk. Contact info@licwe.org to raise a concern or request review. Any refund request remains subject to the policy above and applicable law.
Events and external services
Event registration may take place through Luma or another identified provider. Review the event description, venue requirements, and any event-specific conditions before registering. Separately presented event terms apply to that event.
The website also links to member businesses and outside resources. Their services, transactions, and privacy practices are governed by their own terms. A link does not mean LIC WE guarantees the service or endorses every statement made there.
Workshops and community resources provide general information. They do not establish a legal, financial, medical, or other professional advisory relationship with LIC WE. Seek qualified advice for decisions specific to your circumstances.
Availability and responsibility
We aim to keep the website accurate and available, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or particular business outcomes. Contact us about errors or service problems so we can investigate.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, LIC WE does not provide additional implied warranties for the website and is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost business opportunities, arising from its use. This does not exclude responsibility that cannot legally be excluded or limit your nonwaivable consumer rights.
Changes, questions, and governing law
We may update these terms as services change. We will post the revised terms with an updated date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. Changes will not retroactively remove rights you already have, and changes to recurring charges are subject to the membership provisions above.
These terms are governed by New York law, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live.
For questions about these terms, membership, cancellations, or a dispute, contact LIC Women Entrepreneurs, Inc., Long Island City, Queens, New York, at info@licwe.org.
